This is a part time position – Saturday and occasional weekday, evening hours!
Duties include but not limited to–
-Teach a small group of students
-Grade & record students’ work
-Assist in planning and preparing students’ work
-Periodic help with curriculum preparation
-Ability to work online and provide in-class/online instruction and feedback ( if required)
-Patient, enthusiastic, positive and enjoy working with students across various age groups (Grades K- 12), however if you are comfortable working with only a certain age group, you may indicate it in the resume.
-Outgoing, hard working
-Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.-Should be flexible and available to work on weekday evenings & Saturday.
Ideal candidates are:
-Writers with a passion to teach the craft,
-Teachers who are looking for a part-time job and have proficiency in writing,
-College students with a course of study focused in Education or English/Writing,
-Stay at Home/Work From Home moms who maintain an active blog or enjoy writing in general.
The ideal candidate will utilize progressive didactic, coaching and discussion instruction models to teach content area using creative and innovative methods. Teachers document and assess student progress throughout the semester-long program. The ability to create a safe and rich learning environment is essential. Finally, the ideal candidate will be able to make the writing experiences enjoyable for the students.
Salary/Wage: This is a part-time, hourly position with no benefits. Pay rate is $13 -15/hour depending on qualification and teaching experience.
Duration: 8-10 hours/week for the ideal candidate, with a scope to increase depending on performance.
