Hello, and it’s my pleasure to meet you here.
I am Aruna Davis, founder and writing coach of Learn To Write Now. I am married with two children, who provide me the much-needed muse to all my creative endeavors.
As an engineer and business graduate, I have worked in corporate India & America and have truly enjoyed my jet-setting career. However, and as cliché as it sounds, becoming a mother changed everything and I was no exception.
I decided to become a stay-at-home-mom out of choice, and thoroughly enjoyed the beginning years of raising two wonderful children, being a witness to every one of their first milestones – including their first words and silly scribbles.
This period of serendipitous sabbatical also provided a plethora of volunteering opportunities and rekindled my passion to become a writer and a writing coach.
Launching the Writer’s Workshop
Looking back, it was all a happy accident. I started the writer’s workshop a few years ago at the request of some friends who wanted me to help their children with book reports, literary analysis, and college admission essays. The following years, a handful of students became a roomful, and before long I was teaching haiku poems and high school essays to more than a hundred kids a week. All I can say from the feedback I have received is that I am ecstatic and genuinely humbled.
These classes are offered four times a year now and are usually filled to capacity within a week of session announcement. If you are interested, please check out our classes to see if there is a workshop that meets your needs and email (firstname.lastname@example.org) to reserve a spot.
And as your child’s writing coach my philosophy to writing is that – Learning to Write Well involves not just the mastery of grammar, spelling, punctuation and pristine penmanship but the development of the ability to organize one’s thoughts into a coherent form and target it to an audience in the most effective way possible.
